A course in beating hackers is on offer to residents from an information technology firm.

IT consultant Supatone Ltd said it would partner with the Bermuda Clarity Institute to launch the “Learn how to Hack“ course next month.

The course was designed to give “a basic understanding of hacking techniques, do practical exercises, and learn countermeasures to protect your network” at a time when cybersecurity was of paramount importance.

It said the course offered “a unique opportunity for both C-suite executives and IT professionals to deepen their knowledge of cybersecurity threats and defences”.

It is “aimed at bridging the gap between technical expertise and executive-level understanding, ensuring that leaders and technical teams are well equipped to protect their organisations from cyberthreats”.

Adrian Lodge, founder of Supatone Ltd, said: “A comprehensive course will take at least a week to learn, and over a month of fieldwork.”

However he added: “This course is designed to compress that into two easy-to-manage four-hour sessions which includes hands-on hacking exercises.

“We’ve broken it down into layman’s terms for executives, while providing in-depth technical insights for IT professionals.”

He said teaming up with the Bermuda Clarity Institute meant that organisers could use its state-of-the-art training facilities to deliver comprehensive learning.

The course includes an overview of hacking, essential network concepts, the use of live examples of hacking in a controlled environment, and countermeasures for personal and commercial use.
