Visitor sustains broken arm in single-vehicle crash

An American visitor has been treated for a broken arm after being involved in a crash on a rental scooter.
Police said that the 54-year-old woman was riding along Middle Road, Southampton, on Friday when she struck a wooden roadside railing near Five Star Island at about 11.10am.
The woman was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries, which included several abrasions.
Traffic diversions were in place for about half an hour while the scene was processed.
Anyone with information about the incident should call 211.
