Rider taken to hospital after crash in Sandys
Police attended a “serious” crash in Sandys last night when a rider was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries.
A Bermuda Police Service spokeswoman said that at about 9.25pm officers and other first responders attended the single-vehicle incident on Somerset Road near Scaur Drive.
She explained: “Initial information suggest that a man riding a motorcycle was travelling in the eastbound lane, when he hit the nearside wall, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
“The man has been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries, the extent to which is uncertain at this time.”
Traffic diversions were in effect while police worked at the scene.
Witnesses were asked to contact Constable Kirsteen Brown on 211 or at kbrown@bps.bm.
