Cruise line to launch Bermuda-Philadelphia voyages
Bermuda has been selected as the destination for the first cruise ships out of Philadelphia in more than a decade.
Norwegian Cruise Lines announced that it would offer cruises from the US East Coast city in April 2026, with a series of seven to nine-day sailings to Dockyard on the Norwegian Jewel.
The cruise ship will be the first to use the port since 2010.
The Bermuda-bound cruises will continue until nearly the end of August 2026, when the cruise line will transition to voyages up the East Coast to Canada.
David Herrera, the president of the cruise line, said in a press release: “We remain committed to delivering more experiences for our guests to create unforgettable memories, so they can vacation better with us.
“We are particularly proud to partner with PhilaPort to launch cruising in the area, making it even more accessible to the US Mid-Atlantic region.”
The cruise line said that preparations at Philadelphia’s SouthPort Marine Terminal Complex were under way with the local government “to develop a facility to welcome cruisers”.
It will also offer Bermuda-bound cruises from Boston in 2026 with the Norwegian Breakaway sailing to the island between April and November.
Meanwhile, the Norwegian Aqua will offer regular service between Bermuda and New York in the 2026 season with “a selection of five and seven-day itineraries with overnight stays at the Royal Naval Dockyard”.
