DUI court for motorist in crash
A motorist involved in a collision in Warwick has been ordered to attend a court treatment programme for drink-drivers.
Scott Martin, 59, admitted riding his bike while impaired by alcohol when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The court heard that Martin, from St George’s, collided with another bike on Middle Road on April 16.
Officers at the scene smelt alcohol on Martin’s breath and took him to Hamilton Police Station.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered that a drug assessment be written for Martin and that he participate in DUI Court immediately.
Ms Sofianos extended Martin’s $1,500 bail until that time and disqualified him from driving all vehicles until further notice.
