BermudAir on board with Triangle Challenge
Island carrier BermudAir has been named the official airline partner for January’s Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge.
The airline is offering discounted ticket prices to visitors who will travel to the island to participate in the event, from January 17 to 19, organisers announced.
The carrier will also donate round-trip airfares for the event’s volunteers who attend a post-race weekend Volunteer Wrap Party.
Adam Scott, the founder and chief executive of BermudAir, said: “We're delighted to partner with the Bermuda Triangle Challenge team once again for another weekend of superb running events next January."
Mr Scott said the event “aligns perfectly with our priority to provide year-round service to Bermuda”.
He added: “We’re very happy to support inbound travel via opportunities like this during the winter months and wish the organisers well for another successful event next year.”
Mark Harris, the event’s race director, said: “We are very fortunate to have BermudAir on board as our official airline partner for a second year in a row.”
He hoped that overseas participants, many of whom hail from places where the airline operates, will be encouraged to fly with the carrier “and enjoy the discount, as well as the amazing BermudAir service”.
Meanwhile, the event organisers have teamed up with several hotels that are offering special rates for overseas participants.
They include the Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa, Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa, Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort & Spa, and Coral Beach & Tennis Club.
Next year’s event features the Butterfield Mile on January 17, the BF&M 10km Run/Walk and 5km Run/Walk on January 18 and the PwC Bermuda Marathon, PwC Bermuda Half Marathon and PwC Bermuda Half Marathon Relay on January 19.
