Police identify fourth road fatality of 2024

A 24-year-old man involved in a crash in St George’s last month has died, police said today.

A police spokesman said Shani Simmons lost control of his motorcycle along Tommy Fox Road and hit a metal pole near Pepper Hall Road and Orange Hole Road on July 11.

Mr Simmons was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead on July 15.

He was the fourth person to die on Bermuda’s roads this year.

The incident is being investigated by the Roads Policing Unit and witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are encouraged to contact Sergeant Milton Hill at 515-2481 or mhill@bps.bm.
