Government department to close early

Take a break: members of the public will not be able to access the Department of Statistics’ offices on Cedar Avenue this afternoon (File photograph)

The Government’s Department of Statistics’ offices will close at 3pm today for a “team-building” exercise.

Confirming the premature shutdown, a government spokeswoman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding.”

The Department of Statistics’ offices, located on Cedar Avenue in Hamilton, are normally open until 5pm during the working week, but are closed at weekends.

The spokeswoman assured residents that regular office hours will resume on Tuesday.
