Union unveils latest education award recipients

The Bermuda Public Services Union lent its support to a dozen more students at its 32nd Annual Education Awards Ceremony.

At the event on Friday, the BPSU presented awards to six students pursuing higher education on the island and another six studying overseas.

Christina Arden, Malia Bell, Aleah Clarke, Dimitri Jackson, Sarai Packwood and Teja Watson each received $3,500 overseas education awards from the union.

Jade Fubler, Yatana Hemmings, Natasha Kalloo, Gladwina O’Mara, Dwaynisha Pearman and Rochelle Woodley received $1,500 awards to help them pursue advance education at the Bermuda College or online college programmes.

A BPSU spokeswoman said: “Reflecting the BPSU’s unwavering commitment to supporting educational opportunities for members and their dependents, the union is proud to announce that, since the inception of this initiative, the total value of BPSU Education Awards now stands at over $800,000.

“The BPSU extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the recipients and wishes them every success in their academic and future professional endeavours.”
