David Burt, the Premier, met Emmanuel Macron, the president of France at the closing ceremony of the Paralympics on Sunday.

Macron greeted Burt, and other leaders in attendance at the ceremony, at the close of the Paralympics, at which Bermuda was represented by sprinter Jessica Lewis and boccia player Yushae DeSilva-Andrade.

“It was truly a celebratory occasion and it was a delight to see the Bermuda delegation including Yushae and Jessica,” Burt said yesterday.

“This year’s Paralympics has been an unforgettable ten days of competition with close to 1,100 athletes competing across 164 medal events. There’s no question that Jessica’s and Yushae’s performances have truly inspired us all and Bermuda is so proud of their accomplishments.”

The Premier is visiting the UK and Europe to participate in a series of key meetings and events on behalf of the Ministry of Finance aimed at fostering relationships and highlighting Bermuda's significance as a global business jurisdiction.
