The light at Gibbs Hill Lighthouse is rotating again, Bermuda’s Maritime Operations Centre has confirmed.

A member of staff said the light at the Southampton landmark, which stopped rotating in February due to a mechanical malfunction in its engine, was relit on Sunday.

The Ministry of Public Works said in June that long-term repairs to the lighthouse, which require the use of a crane, were expected to be completed by 2025

The Royal Gazette reached out to the ministry yesterday for an update about the works but did not receive a response by press time.
