Some of the island’s brightest young tennis players will be in action at the third annual Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association Back To School Tournament this week.

Sponsored by AXA Insurance company, who also back the BLTA Spring Fling tournament in April land the planned holiday tournament in December, the competition caps off an exciting summer of junior tennis which featured several teams representing Bermuda in events across in the Caribbean and Latin American Region.

The Back To School Tournament is usually highly competitive and takes place from Thursday until Sunday. Various age groups, including boys and girls at under 12, under-14 and under-16, will compete in singles match play.

Play starts at Port Royal Tennis Courts in Southampton at 4.15pm on Thursday, with the Temple of Tennis Club making their facility available after doubts surrounded the use of the regular venue, W.E. R Joell Tennis Stadium.

Matches at the weekend will begin at 8.30am with everybody welcome to support players who represent the future of the sport in Bermuda.
