Hafnia shareholders approve proposed move to Singapore

The shareholders of Bermudian-domiciled Hafnia Ltd, the tanker-owning company, have voted to approve a scheme of arrangement that proposes to redomicile the company to Singapore.

The company is to petition the Supreme Court of Bermuda to sanction the scheme at a court hearing next Thursday.

If the scheme is sanctioned by the court, it will become binding on the company and its shareholders once a copy of the court order is filed with the Registrar of Companies in Bermuda.

The company expects that the redomiciliation will come into effect on or around October 1, subject to the sanction by the court, the filing of the court order, the final approval by the Singapore Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority and the satisfaction or waiver of all conditions to the scheme as set out in the scheme.

The company is part of the BW Group, an international shipping organisation involved in oil and gas transportation, floating gas infrastructure, environmental technologies and deep water production.

An exempted company limited by shares, Hafnia has been registered in Bermuda since 2014.

The company has offices in Singapore, Copenhagen, Houston and Dubai and employs more than 4,000 employees onshore and at sea.

BW LPG — which is associated with BW Group — completed its redomiciliation to Singapore in July.
