By-election candidates to take part in youth panel

The four candidates in next month’s Sandys North by-election will take part in a discussion before a panel of young voters on Sunday.

The Reverend Emily Gail Dill, of the Progressive Labour Party, Carl Neblett, of the One Bermuda Alliance, Free Democratic Movement leader Marc Bean and independent candidate Cire Bean will hold a live discussion moderated by Bermuda Youth Connect hosts Ajai Peets and Halle Teart.

The 90-minute forum will start at 7pm and be streamed live on YouTube, The Daily Hour’s channels and on X.

It will be followed at 8.30pm by a debriefing with Taj Donville-Outerbridge, William Campbell and Christian Chin-Gurrett, live on YouTube and X.

A spokeswoman for Bermuda Youth Connect said: “This discussion will give Sandys North residents the opportunity to watch candidates side-by-side and draw comparisons to inform their decision on October 4.

“We encourage the C36 community to get together and set up watch parties with neighbours, family and friends so that all can enjoy this unique discussion.”

The by-election was called after the resignation of MP and government minister Kathy Lynn Simmons last month.
