Crane lifts sunken car from water
A section of Harbour Road was closed this morning so that a car could be removed from Hamilton Harbour.
The car left the road at a stretch between the Valley Road and Highwood Lane junctions over the weekend.
That stretch was closed from 10am to enable the placement of a crane at the location, which was used to pull the submerged vehicle from the water.
Traffic diversions were in place at the junction of Lovers Lane and Harbour Road, as well as the junction of Chapel Road and Harbour Road.
Traffic control was under the direction of the Pimental Crane Services staff using barricades, signs and cones.
The incident was reported to police on Sunday night. The driver of the car, said to be a 37-year-old Hamilton Parish man, was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Any witnesses or members of the public with details were asked to call the Bermuda Police Service on 211, or provide information through the BPS community reporting portal.
