Health insurance coverage lacking

Coverage gaps: in-home care benefits are needed, says Linda De Silva (Photograph by Siggy Nowak/Pixabay)

Dear Sir,

I write to draw the attention of seniors (and seniors-to-be) to the fact that not all government health insurance policies provide benefits for those needing day or night-time supervision or assistance in the home.

Recently, I was greatly surprised and dismayed to discover that the Government Employees Health Insurance in which I have been enrolled since its inception, does not have coverage for the above needs for its many hundreds of current and former government employees and families.

Healthcare coverage is on everyone’s mind and now is the time to fill in the current gaps in coverage – notably for Government employees and families and government health insurance policies.

LINDA J DE SILVA
