Erling Haaland scored his 100th goal for Manchester City in all competitions during the tense draw with title rivals Arsenal on Sunday, hitting the milestone in just 105 games to equal the record of great forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who reached the landmark in the same time at Real Madrid.

Fantasy managers have some new players to choose from in this last game before the October international window, but there from the start was Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who has begun the season with four goals in his first five league matches.

Saturday

Newcastle United v Manchester City (8.30am)

Newcastle have started with ten points from their first five games and all three of their victories have come by just a single goal. Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Lewis Miley and Callum Wilson are out this week for the Magpies.

Manchester City substitute John Stones netted a stoppage-time equaliser against Arsenal to keep the champions two points ahead of their most dangerous challengers and he may be in contention to replace Rodri, who is out for the rest of the season after sustaining significant damage to his anterior cruciate ligament.

Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb are also out with injury, while Kevin de Bruyne is doubtful with a groin injury.

Prediction: 2-2

Arsenal v Leicester City (11am)

Arsenal new recruit Riccardo Calafiori scored his first goal in English football at Manchester City last week.

Leandro Trossard is suspended after being sent off for a second yellow card at the Etihad. Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino all miss this match.

Leicester have managed three draws from their first five games but are yet to keep a clean sheet and a fan had to be prevented from reaching coach Steve Cooper during their EFL Cup game against League Two Walsall in midweek.

Jakub Stolarczyk and Patson Daka are out with ankle injuries, while Jannik Vestergaard is doubtful with a minor ankle sprain.

Prediction: 3-1

Brentford v West Ham United (11am)

Brentford have endured a mixed start with two wins and three defeats. Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Gustavo Nunes, Igor Thiago and Yoane Wissa are out, while Christian Norgaard is doubtful.

West Ham have taken just four points from their first five games, with pressure rising on new coach Julen Lopetegui after the home defeat to Chelsea. Niclas Fullkrug is doubtful with an Achilles injury.

Prediction: 1-1

Chelsea v Brighton & Hove Albion (11am)

Chelsea have recorded two of the three largest victories so far this season in the wins at Wolves and West Ham, with nine of their 11 league goals coming in those two matches.

Reece James and Omari Kellyman are out with hamstring injuries, while Romeo Lavia is doubtful with a minor hamstring problem.

Brighton remain unbeaten despite three straight draws, which started with a1-1 stalemate at title-chasing Arsenal. Solly March and Matt O’Riley are out, while Brajan Gruda and James Milner are doubtful.

Prediction: 3-2

Everton v Crystal Palace (11am)

Everton are finally up and running after getting their first point of the season at Leicester last Saturday. Seamus Coleman, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti are out injured, while Jarrad Branthwaite, Nathan Patterson, Vitaly Mykolenko and Idrissa Gueye are doubtful.

Crystal Palace held out for a goalless home draw with Manchester United to pick up their first clean sheet of the campaign. Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure are out with knee and toe injuries, while Trevoh Chalobah and Matheus Franca are doubtful with abdominal and rib injuries.

Prediction: 1-2

Nottingham Forest v Fulham (11am)

Nottingham Forest came from behind twice to draw at Brighton and remain unbeaten despite losing Morgan Gibbs-White to a second yellow card for a horrible tackle on Joao Pedro.

Gibbs-White will be suspended this week, while Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare are out to ankle and hamstring injuries, while Willy Boly is doubtful.

Fulham are unbeaten since losing on opening night at Manchester United. Carlos Vinicius is doubtful with a calf injury.

Prediction: 2-1

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Liverpool (1.30pm)

Wolves have conceded at least twice in four of their first five games, boasting the joint-worst defensive record with 14 goals conceded.

Yerson Mosquera, Boubacar Traore, Bastien Meupiyou, Enso Gonzalez and Sasa Kalajdzic are out with various injuries, while Toti Antonio Gomes is doubtful with a hamstring injury.

Liverpool continued their impressive start to the campaign with a convincing home win over Bournemouth. The Merseyside club will miss Harvey Elliott to a foot injury while goalkeeper Alisson Becker is doubtful.

Prediction: 0-2

Sunday

Ipswich Town v Aston Villa (10am)

Ipswich are making steady strides on their first top-flight rodeo in more than two decades, grabbing three straight low-scoring draws to show they are up for the challenge. Harry Clarke and Kalvin Phillips are doubtful.

Aston Villa have started well despite the challenge of a first Champions League campaign since 1982-83.

The West Midlands club are just one point behind injury-riddled Manchester City and have Jaden Philogene out this week. Tyrone Mings, Boubacar Kamara, John McGinn and Matt Cash are doubtful.

Prediction: 1-2

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur (12.30pm)

Manchester United have missed the most big chances (17) in the Premier League so far. Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro are out injured.

Tottenham put on their best performance of the season to cruise past Brentford with ease last week. Wilson Odobert, Richarlison and Will Lankshear are out to injury for the visit to Old Trafford.

Prediction: 2-1

Monday

Bournemouth v Southampton (4pm)

Bournemouth are one of eight clubs yet to muster a shutout this season but still have five points from their five games. Tyler Adams (back) is the only injury concern this week for the Cherries.

Southampton grabbed their first point at home to Ipswich and have only scored two goals in their first five games.

Jack Stephens is suspended for the second of three games and Gavin Bazunu is out with an Achilles injury. Kamaldeen Sulemana and Will Smallbone are doubtful.

Prediction: 1-2
