Representatives from a group of Canadian boarding schools are to visit Bermuda to promote the benefits of studying in Canada.

The Canadian Boarding School Fair will take place at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on October 9 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

The event is being organised by the Canadian Boarding Collective, which will provide families with the opportunity to meet representatives from a wide variety of schools across Canada.

A spokeswoman for the Canadian Association of Independent Schools network said: “Canadian boarding schools are home to students from over 100 countries around the world, all of whom are drawn to the safety and security of life in Canada with its culturally diverse and welcoming population.

“Generations of promising students from Bermuda have chosen to attend a CAIS-accredited boarding school in Canada to prepare them for the demands and expectations of university.

“CAIS schools are dedicated to providing exceptional educational experiences and continuous improvement in every aspect of school life.

“Students at CAIS schools are changing the schools they learn in, communities they live in and the world around them.”

The schools include all-boys, all-girls, co-ed, urban and rural schools. Some schools offer the International Baccalaureate programme, others offer advanced placement courses, and all offer a range of arts, athletics, community service and leadership programmes.
