The last Word on abortion
Dear Sir,
I hope you will allow me a few lines to express a view on this topic. I do not know how any self-respecting Christian can support the murder of an innocent life. Abortion is no more than a fancy word for murder, so that those doing it can ease their conscience. (Matthew 19:18/Mark 10:19/Luke 18:20)
The life that the mother is “carrying” is distinct and separate from the mother. The mother is merely a “vessel” used to bring that life into this world. It saddens me every time I hear, '“It’s my body” or “It’s a woman’s body”.
It is not! The life created is distinct and separate from that of the mother.
Matthew 18:10 tells us: “See that you don’t despise any of these little ones. Their angels in heaven, I tell you, are always in the presence of my Father in heaven.”
For those who say it is not a baby, I take you to Psalm 51:5 — “I have been evil from the day I was born; from the time I was conceived, I have been sinful.”
So those of us who accept the Bible as the authority on life must realise that once a life is conceived, it is a person recognised by God Almighty and therefore we have no right to terminate that life.
