Travel packages for visitors during Art Month
Visitors will be able to capitalise on special travel packages throughout October from four island hotels as part of the second annual Art Month.
The Bermuda Tourism Authority said that the participating hotels will offer 20 to 35 per cent discounts to encourage art enthusiasts to explore Bermuda’s cultural landscape.
It added: “These packages complement the monthlong festivities and provide visitors with immersive opportunities to experience the island’s thriving creative scene.”
The BTA website showed that Art Month deals were offered at Rosewood Bermuda, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, Newstead Belmont Hills and the Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa.
Tashae Thompson, the BTA’s vice-president of experiences, said: “Art Month is part of the BTA’s strategic efforts to position Bermuda as a year-round tourism destination by highlighting attractions and authentic cultural assets that appeal to a core traveller, the cultural enthusiast.
“Visitors are increasingly seeking out art and cultural experiences, and we've been actively marketing these offerings alongside travel packages.
“We are excited about the many offerings available to travellers during October, making it easier than ever for them to explore Bermuda’s vibrant creative scene.”
Art Month was launched this year at an event titled Paint the Town Pink in New York.
The initiative featured work by local artists Shanna Hollis, Alshante Foggo and Nhuri Bashir in high-traffic areas.
It received further promotion through the Travel & Leisure platform, and during a sales mission in Philadelphia, featuring artist Carlos Santana.
The mission was aimed at travel advisers and meeting planners.
