Saltus Grammar School has announced the results of graduates’ Advanced Placement exams.

Saltus has offered AP courses, which allow high school students to earn college credits, since 1975.

A statement said 70 students took 146 AP exams during the 2023-24 academic year, with 89 per cent scoring at least a 3, the standard acceptance level as a subject credit in North American universities.

The College Board recognised 23 students for outstanding results – Darrin Charles and Kate Marcotte received a perfect score of 5 on all AP courses, and Georgia Gravestock and Jordan Greene earned a Capstone Diploma after completing AP Seminar and AP Research at Saltus.

Eleven students were named AP Scholars with Distinction after earning a 3 or higher on five or more exams and a 3.5 average, and four students who scored 3 or higher on at least four exams and a 3.25 average earned the AP Scholars with Honours designation.

The AP Scholar designation was given to eight students who scored 3 or higher on at least three AP exams.

The statement added: “These accomplishments reflect the dedication and hard work of both the students and the educators at Saltus in preparing students for success in their AP exams; congratulations to all students on their achievements.”
