Bermuda’s Comet sailors in Maryland

Bermuda was represented by 12 sailors at the Comet Class International Regatta in Maryland over the weekend.

Sailors from Mid Atlantic Boat & Sports Club, including commodore and president Zaniko Hendrickson, East End Mini Yacht Club and West End Sail Boat Club headed to the Corsica River Yacht Club for the event which was hosted on island in 2023 and will again come to Bermuda in 2027.

Rudy Bailey and George Bailey performed best of the Bermudian cohort, finishing fourth of the 17 boats on 27 points. Maxwell Curtis, president of the Bermuda Comet Class and commodore/president of Mid Atlantic Boat Club, and his crew Wesley Tucker finished in sixth place on 34 points but did manage to pick up a win in the final race of the regatta.

Dale Brangman and crew Zane Hendrickson finished in tenth place on 74 points, with Zaniko and Zanikae Hendrickson ending the regatta in twelfth place on 87 points.

Lorenzo Lambert and crew Malahku Selassie finished fifteenth on 88 points with Gregory Wade and crew Jelani Carlington seventeenth on 106 .points
