A 5km charity race will affect traffic in Smith’s and Hamilton Parish on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Works said.

In a notice, the ministry said the Swan’s charity race is to start and finish at John Smith's Bay beach.

Runners will start at 8am and the event is expected to conclude by 9.30am.

They will head east from the starting point, down South Road to Paynter's Road and continue on to Harrington Sound Road.

The race will then head west to Devil's Hole Hill and back on to South Road, before heading to the finishing point at John Smith's Bay beach.

Traffic will be directed by road marshals along the route.

The ministry urged motorists to use caution and to follow instructions given by the road marshals to assist with traffic control for the event.
