We can all change the world for the better

Words of wisdom: the Holy Koran

I believe that everything is temporary. Situations arise and situations fall. Everything changes, nothing remains the same.

In creation we can take example from the day changing to night, the seasons changing from hot to cold and everything in between. People change in physical appearance, as well as emotions and attitudes, as we get older for sure.

Life is a constant challenge of change and adjustment. Some change is for the best, some not so much, but at any rate change comes, good or bad, change comes whether we’re ready or not!

Presently, the condition of world affairs is in such a state, that change must occur. If change does not occur for the best, we are in big trouble as conditions will only get worse. Scary huh?

What are we to do? Well, self-preservation is the first law of nature; also according to Hobbes's first law of nature, it’s “to seek peace, and follow it”. As my mother drummed into my head that if change is to be, it begins with me. Absolutely true; my mum, a wise woman indeed.

So how can I change the course of the world that seems to be headed for certain destruction? Allah says in His noble Koran, Sura 13, Aayat 11: “Verily, Allah will not change the (good) condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah.”

So the solution seems to be obedience to God’s will and doing good deeds. It seems simple so let’s give it a try and witness the change for a better world. That’s our challenge.

Bermuda have a peaceful week, pray for world peace; bear in mind, that prayer without action is dead. We have to continue to voice our desire for ceasefire now wherever bombs are blasting.

As salaam alaikum (peace be unto you).
