Women’s volleyball team win silver at Eastern Caribbean Championship

Bermuda women’s volleyball team picked up silver medals at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association Championships

The senior women’s volleyball team are flying back to the island with silver medals after finishing runners-up at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Championships in Antigua.

Bermuda, who topped the six-team group with four wins and a defeat in their five pool matches, lost 3-0 in the final to reigning champions St Lucia.

While disappointed with the defeat, the ten-woman squad outperformed their pre-tournament seeding of sixth, winning their first four matches of the competition against Sint Maarten, St Lucia, Anguilla and Antigua.

The tournament marked the senior women’s return to international competition for the first time since the Covid pandemic under coaches Shaela Rae and Kayla Grant
