Two veteran executives with strong Bermuda connections have been appointed to the group board of Accredited Insurance Holdings, the global programme manager, as non-executive directors.
The company said Barbara Bufkin and Patricia Roufca had deep experience and knowledge, following highly successful careers within the insurance industry.
Ms Bufkin has held executive roles across reinsurance, specialty insurance, and wholesale distribution, including at Guy Carpenter, Swiss Re, Hamilton Insurance Group, and Argo Ltd, and as a senior adviser to Amwins.
She serves as an independent director for Duck Creek Technologies, Nuclear Electric Insurance Ltd and Westfield Companies.
Ms Bufkin also serves on the advisory board of Opterrix and is chairwoman of the Association of Professional Insurance Women.
Accredited said Ms Roufca was most recently UK chief executive for Fidelis Underwriting Ltd, as well as group general counsel and director of Strategic Execution for Fidelis Insurance Holdings Ltd, playing a leadership role in its successful and landmark bifurcation.
During her tenure at Fidelis, she was also group chief operating officer. Before this, she held various roles at Aspen Insurance, including group head of legal, having started her career as a corporate lawyer.
William Spiegel, the chief executive of Accredited, said: “I am thrilled to announce the appointments of Barbara and Patricia to our group board.
“As we seek to balance growth with rigorous risk management and strong governance, their highly relevant experience will bring fresh perspective and important insights to our board.”
