One Communications issues scam warning

One Communications has warned customers to beware of callers who ask for personal details.

It came after a report from a resident that a caller requested her personal information during a call.

In a voice note shared on social media, the woman said she received a call from a male who gave his particulars and purported to be from One Communications.

She said she kept the man on the line and contacted the company which later verified that it was a scam.

In a statement on its Facebook page, One Communications said: “Should you receive a call from ‘One’ asking for any information related to your account, computers or personal information, please hang up and do not provide the caller with any information.

“We wish to remind our customers that we will never request password or other information related to their accounts via phone calls, text messages or e-mails.”

The company said if there was uncertainty over any communications said to be from One, people should contact the business directly by calling customer care on 700-7000 for verification.
