Swedish sailor Cornelia Baldock Frost beats boys in Renaissance Re Junior Gold Cup

Young Swedish sailor Cornelia Baldock Frost beat the boys to win the Renaissance Re Junior Gold Cup this weekend.

Baldock Frost led the regatta from the very first race and finished on top of the fleet with a remarkable 22 points after winning four of the ten races and finishing second in another three.

That gave the 15-year-old a 30-point margin of victory over another sailor from Scandinavia, Carl Birgesson of Denmark, who finished runner-up on 52 points, with Ines Mendez-Larminaux, of Puerto Rico, completing the podium with 58 points.

There was plenty of Bermuda representation at the regatta, with Miguel Power finishing highest in eighth position on 86 points. James Ganal (100pts), Harry Brown (103pts), Nina Gotfredsen (113pts), Thomas McBain (114pts) and Rory Savage (127pts) occupied the finishing positions between twelfth and sixteenth respectively.

Noah Amaradasa finished eighteenth on 141pts, with Evan Davis twentieth on 160 and Emma Brown 21st (180pts).

Benjamin DeCouto, Finbar Lohan, Miguel Leite, Jesse Savage, Heath Meyers, Walker Smith, Bram Wiseman, Rex Henagulph, Sean Pedro, Aaron Riker, Tadhg Gotfredsen, James Wallace, Jacob Beale, Benjamin Stones, Alfie Jansma and Chole McBrearty finished 23rd to 38th respectively.
