Rugby Classic semi-finals start as Argentina take on Canada
The action starts to heat up at the National Sports Centre tonight as the World Rugby Classic reaches the semi-final stage.
Last year’s winners Argentina will take on Canada at 8.30pm after the two teams made serene progress to the semi-finals on Saturday night, with Argentina beating the USA 27-5 and Canada beating Classic Ireland 28-10.
That semi-final is not the only match taking place tonight, with the two vanquished teams, Ireland and USA, taking each other on in the Plate semi-final at 7pm. The first match of the night features Bermuda Barbarians taking on Bald Eagles USA at 5.45pm.
The second Classic semi-final, which will be held tomorrow, features a strong South African team who thrashed a Classic Lions team 74-7 on Sunday night to take their place as favourites to win the competition. They will take on last year’s runners-up France, who beat an Italian side 28-10.
The two losing teams will provide the appetiser to the main event at North Field tomorrow.
