Regiment Association gives to war veterans charity
The Royal Bermuda Regiment Association has made a $1,500 donation to war veterans charity the Bermuda Legion.
The funds were given as part of the legion’s poppy appeal in the run-up to next Monday’s Remembrance Day ceremony.
A spokesman for the RBRA said: “This annual donation from the RBRA to the Bermuda Legion represents our continued commitment and gratitude to the Bermuda war veterans and their families.
“The sacrifices made by those that served in times of conflict to protect our freedom cannot be forgotten.”
Carol Everson, a welfare case worker with the British Legion, said: “We are most pleased and grateful for the donation and our valued relationship with the association.
“We are still in need of more donations and volunteers to assist with poppy sales so please continue to give generously, thank you.”
Those interested in making donations to this year’s poppy appeal can contribute online at HSBC 010 731354 001.
To volunteer for poppy sales, please call Ms Everson on 732-0100.
The RBRA has been invited by the Royal Bermuda Regiment to march in the Remembrance Day parade next Monday.
