Two nights of comedic improvisation are on the menu at Daylesford Theatre in Hamilton this weekend.

The Bermuda Improv Group is teaming up with the Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society to host A Funny Taste, an interactive evening of in-the-moment comedy.

The Improv Comedy Cup Match in July was a sell-out event, prompting organisers to put on a new show.

Alan Gilbertson, one of the performers, said: “You’ll be able to watch a starter portion of improv scenes while you sip a drink.

“Some audience members might choose to add a side order of playing beginners’ games, but only if they want to. Either way, it’s going to taste funny.”

Improv is a form of live theatre that is made up on the spot. Based on audience suggestions, performers will collaborate to invent plots, characters and dialogue.

Mr Gilbertson added: “Each show offers a unique experience full of surprises, potential disasters, mayhem and laughter.”

Brendon Fourie, who recently starred in the BMDS production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, will act as the master of ceremonies, introducing the cast of Mr Gilbertson, Toby Butterfield, Aziza Furbert, Gabe Peyton and Machum Simmons.

Robbie Godfrey, the show’s producer, said: “Do not miss A Funny Taste. You’ll have fun while supporting the continued growth of this wonderful group of improv artists.”

The shows are on Friday and Saturday starting at 8pm. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.ptix.bm. For more information about the show format and content, or about BIG’s improv classes, e-mail bigimprovbda@gmail.com
