Man admits wounding, damaging car windshield
A Pembroke man pleaded guilty yesterday to a charge of wounding after being assured that he would not face time behind bars.
Russell Lambert denied a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in connection with an incident on July 8, 2023.
However, he pleaded guilty to the lesser offence of “simple” wounding.
Lambert also pleaded guilty to causing wilful damage to a car on the same date, with the vehicle reportedly suffering $855 of damage to its windshield.
The plea came after Puisne Judge Alan Richards indicated to the court that he had reviewed CCTV evidence in the case and that he was not considering an immediate custodial sentence.
Details of the incident were not given in the hearing, but prosecutors accepted the pleas as offered.
After Lambert pleaded guilty, the judge ordered a social inquiry report to be carried out before sentencing.
He added: “What sentence I do impose will be determined when we return in January.”
