Somersfield Academy win middle school netball tournament
Somersfield Academy beat BHS 6-5 in an exciting final to the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s middle school netball tournament on Wednesday
Milena Millett and Freida Valli both scored three goals apiece for Somersfield to guide their team to victory, with Samantha Morgan scoring three for BHS and Hailey Oduori contributing two.
Somersfield and BHS caused surprises in the semi-finals with both teams overcoming group winners to advance.
Somersfield defeated pool A winners Saltus 7-4 in their semi-final, with Millet leading the way with four goals and Valli adding three. Zara Bule scored three for Saltus with Titiana Green finding the net once.
Morgan scored two overtime goals to steer BHS to a 7-6 victory over Dellwood Middle School in the other semi-final. She finished the game with four goals and Oduori scored three. Sa-Qurity Warner scored five goals for Dellwood with Dani Brown contributing one.
