Sean Trott and Gayle Lindsay victorious in Turkey Trot
Some famous names on the Bermuda running scene took the honours in the Northshore Medical Turkey Trot on Sunday.
With the race distance of 8km one of the longest on the competitive circuit, it was perhaps no surprise that the cream rose to the top, with Sean Trott stopping the clock at 27min 33sec.
That was 52 seconds clear of runner-up Philip Woollins (28:31) with Tim Price third (29:48). Kwame Curling (29:53) and Will Green (30:25) rounded out the top five.
Gayle Lindsay completed the course in 31:03, which was enough to finish seventh overall and was nearly two minutes clear of her nearest rival Stepanka Sprincova, who finished second in 32:49. Teresa Ruiz finished third in 33:37 with Bonnie Mills (37:32) and Christina Kim (38:00) finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
In the 8km competitive walk, there was a victory for Nancy Andrews-Sousa, who won in 1:01:13. That was 32 seconds clear of runner-up Karen Schulz-Kiske (1:01:45) with Michael Cenzer third (1:03:39).
Nearly 100 runners and walkers took part in the festive event with many choosing to race in fancy dress.
