A popular art gallery in the West End has opened a holiday season pop-up shop in Hamilton’s Washington Mall.

A temporary facility by the Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard, it will remain operational until Christmas Eve.

Gallery administrator Heidi Cowen said: “While we cherish our permanent home in Dockyard with its open-air environment and lush green spaces, Dockyard becomes a popular weekend spot only after quiet weekdays.

“In contrast, Hamilton buzzes with activity every day. Whether residents are running errands, on tight lunch breaks, or simply strolling through, our pop-up shop offers the perfect opportunity to discover and purchase beautiful local art.”

She added: “Our mission at the Bermuda Arts Centre is straightforward: to support our member artists. Instead of remaining in stillness, we’re proactively relocating [temporarily] to ensure our artists receive the visibility they deserve.

“Beyond paintings, our shop boasts a diverse array of handmade gifts, including cedar crafts, ceramics, dolls, bags, mixed media pieces and much more.

“If you’re looking to support local artistry, our pop-up shop is your one-stop destination. Our volunteer artists will be present daily, welcoming you to chat and explore their latest creations.”

The shop is on the lower level of Washington Mall next to The Harbourmaster.

It features the Arts Centre’s small works show. This exhibition includes unframed artwork in various media, all sized no larger than eight-by-ten inches.
