Semi-final stage set at squash championships
The semi-final stage is set at the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association Club Championships as the top-four male seeds do battle on Thursday night.
Some exciting matches are guaranteed as No 1 seed Kristian Muldoon takes on fourth seed Neil Pohlman and D’Vario Thompson, the No 2 seed, plays third seed Jason Shrubb.
Those matches follow another exciting night at the venue, with the most thriiling match on wednesday reserved for the over-40 men’s competition as second seed Anthony Fellowes came through a marathon five-set match against third seed Hadleigh Farrar, eventually prevailing 11-13, 11-3, 11-7, 10-12, 11-2.
Fellowes will play top seed John Fletcher in the final on Friday night after he beat Piers Carr in straight sets.
The final of the men’s over-50 tournament will also feature the top-two seeds after Nick Leach and Spencer Moss came through their semi-finals against Shane McDonnell and Jan Brewer respectively.
The cream has also risen to the top in the Men’s B competition after Jason Savoury and Jonah Every made it through to the final, although Savoury was made to work hard in the semi-final by Otto Beyer, who took the second set off the top seed.
