Schools jingle all the way to Skyport Carol-Off finals
A winner’s concert after the results came in for Skyport’s second annual Great Bermuda Carol-Off has been announced by the airport management firm.
The schools will perform at LF Wade International Airport on Thursday evening after a panel of judges decided the finalists of the carol competition.
Northlands Primary School topped its category, with West End Primary School taking second place.
In the middle and secondary school choir category, The Berkeley Institute took first place.
The 2023 winners, Bermuda Institute, took second place.
St David's/East End Primary took home the people’s choice award.
These schools have been recognised for their harmonic skill, creativity, professionalism and Christmas spirit.
They competed for $5,000 each for the winners, along with $2,000 for each runner-up.
Skyport congratulated the 21 choirs, saying each brought something “unique and festive to the stage”.
The winners’ concert, which runs from 7pm to 9pm, is now sold out, with standing room only for those who still wish to attend.
Guests can enjoy performances by the finalists, with the proceedings hosted by the MC Mr Fotogenik.
A vendor market will feature local businesses such as Ensure, Little Roads, Ashley’s Lemonade, The Knifty Knitzz and more.
Seasonal snacks and drinks, including eggnog, will be on sale.
Free parking will be provided in the short-term car park.
Nikki Fagan, head of brand development and communications at Skyport, said the event “certainly put a festive spring in the steps of the airport’s staff and travellers passing through this week”.
