As public voting continues in the City of Hamilton’s Christmas Window Decorating Contest, businesses have pulled out all the stops on creativity to woo voters.

Twenty-four businesses, including seven debutants, are in the competition, the City said.

The contenders are vying for prizes, including a donation from the City to a charity of the winner’s choice.

Public voting started last Friday and will end at noon on December 16.

The windows at this year’s participating businesses have been transformed with festive decor, such as draped mannequins dressed in holiday apparel.

This year, the Bermuda National Library’s window was done up in a Polar Express theme.

The library is promoting its golden library card in its window to connect the community with a treasure trove of books and resources.

The City said the contest celebrated creativity and holiday spirit, and offered participating entities the opportunity to enchant residents and visitors with stunning Christmas window displays.

The contest is divided into the categories of Best Christmas Window 2024, which will be chosen by a panel of judges, and People’s Choice, selected by the public.

The prize for the Best Christmas Window will include a $1,000 gift voucher from Belco and a $1,000 donation to a charity of choice.

The People’s Choice winner will receive a $500 Belco gift voucher and a donation to a chosen charity to match the amount.

Sideya Dill, the senior marketing co-ordinator for the City of Hamilton, said: “We’re thrilled with the variety and creativity this year’s entries bring to the City.

“The contest is all about spreading holiday cheer, fostering community spirit and supporting Hamilton’s businesses during this important season.

“Beyond celebrating the artistry of these window displays, the competition contributes to our broader mission of driving local spending, attracting foot traffic and boosting the economic vitality of businesses of all sizes.

“Every display is a testament to the creativity and community pride that make Hamilton shine during the holidays.”
