Man admits wounding woman
A teenager who injured a woman with a machete will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court next month.
Nyaunjae Crockwell, 19, admitted wounding and acting threateningly towards Kylah Burch when he appeared in court on Wednesday.
The court heard that on May 31, Crockwell, who lived in the same building in Warwick as Ms Burch, put a machete to her neck and asked if she “wanted to die”.
Ms Burch suffered wounds on her elbow and stomach as she pushed Crockwell and the weapon away from her, and had to get stitches at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered a social inquiry report to be written for Crockwell.
She adjourned the case to January 29 for sentencing and remanded him in custody until then.
