Dandy Town continued their ascent up the Premier League table with a commanding victory over St George’s Colts last night at Goose Gosling Field.

David Jones Jr led the charge with a brace, while Nathan Ntalu, Jakari Furbert and Tomiko Goater each found the back of the net to dispatch the East End outfit.

Although St George’s showed flashes of potential, they were ultimately outclassed by a well-drilled Town side.

The match started at a frenetic pace, with both teams displaying intent to attack from the opening whistle.

Dandy Town created the first opportunity when Jones latched on to a lofted ball over the top, skilfully rounding the goalkeeper, but his volley from a tight angle drifted wide of the far post.

Moments later, St George’s nearly capitalised on a defensive lapse. Blaiz Hall found himself with space down the left side of the box after pouncing on a loose ball, but his low strike was expertly denied by the outstretched foot of goalkeeper Toran Place.

Dandy Town broke the deadlock in the nineteenth minute when St George’s failed to clear their lines after a corner. In the resulting scramble, Ntalu was quickest to react, stabbing the ball into the net to give his side the lead.

The goal tilted momentum heavily in Town’s favour. They began to dominate possession, moving the ball with confidence and carving out more opportunities. Their second goal arrived five minutes before the break.

Jakari Furbert delivered an inviting cross from the left flank, which Jones controlled with remarkable composure before slotting home from close range.

St George’s, determined to regain a foothold, made a tactical adjustment at half-time, introducing veteran midfielder Qadir Maynard to inject experience and stability.

However, Town wasted no time in extending their advantage. Just minutes into the second half, Jones combined brilliantly with Ereico Outerbridge before dispatching a clinical finish into the bottom corner to register his second goal of the night.

By the 57th minute, the match was effectively beyond doubt. Furbert added his name to the scoresheet with a simple finish at the back post, capping a fluid passing move that highlighted Town’s dominance.

Despite the scoreline, St George’s refused to capitulate. Blaiz Hall and Ne-Jai Tucker were lively in attack, posing problems for Town’s defence.

Their perseverance paid off in the 71st minute when Senoj Mitchell was fouled in the penalty area. Kashe Hall stepped up and coolly converted from the spot to give the visiting side a glimmer of hope.

However, Dandy Town would have the final say. With seven minutes left on the clock, Tomiko Goater broke through on goal, showing great composure to beat the goalkeeper and secure an emphatic victory.

The win propels Dandy Town into second place, leapfrogging PHC, and leaves them just two points behind league leaders North Village. With a game in hand, Town’s title ambitions remain firmly alive.
