Knockout matches moved from Bernard Park

The Bermuda Football Association has been forced to switch two cup quarter-final matches to Southampton Oval as Bernard Park still remains unavailable for matches.

The BFA released their festive fixture list on Monday with Bernard Park set to host four matches between December 20 and December 27 and while the BFA has not given reasons for Bernard Park being unavailable, The Royal Gazette understands it relates to the safety issues surrounding areas outside the Pembroke facility.

Equipment and debris left behind during the installation of state-of-the-art lights at Village’s home ground still needs to be moved for the venue to be cleared to host matches again, with games scheduled for Boxing Day also in danger of being shifted.

The matches originally scheduled to take place at Bernard Park on Sunday have been moved to Southampton Oval, with Vasco taking on Somerset Trojans in the last eight of the First Division Shield at 12pm before Paget square off against North Village in the Friendship Trophy at 2pm.
