A senior citizen who collided with a cycle in Hamilton was fined $800 in Magistrates’ Court.

Frederick Swan, 87, admitted driving his car without due care and attention when he appeared in court on Friday.

The court heard that Swan, from Southampton, drove into the cycle’s path while turning from Front Street to Court Street on April 26.

In addition to the fine, Swan had seven points added to his licence.
