Investigation launched after gun fired on Hamilton street

Police have put out a call for witnesses in the wake of shots being fired on Court Street on Saturday night.

A police spokesman said that at about 7.05pm, a “confirmed firearm incident” took place in North Hamilton.

“It appears that a white motorcycle, with a rider and pillion passenger dressed in dark coloured clothing, was travelling along Court Street near the junction with Angle Street, when the pillion passenger discharged a firearm,” the spokesman said.

“There were no reported injuries. Forensic examination of the scene later confirmed that a firearm had been discharged.”

Police said an investigation into the incident has been launched and anyone with information is urged to contact acting Detective Inspector Anneka Donawa at 717-2250, or adonawa@bps.bm, at the earliest opportunity.

Witnesses can also share information by talking to a police officer they know or making an online report at the Bermuda Police Service reporting portal at portal.police.bm.

Anonymous tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers Bermuda through the independent and confidential hotline, 800-8477, or their website www.crimestoppers.bm.
