Christmas trees to be collected on January 18 and 25

The Ministry of Public Works will collect all Christmas trees in the coming weeks.

A spokesman said the ministry would pick up kerbside trees in Sandys, Southampton, Warwick, Paget, Tee Street and Kent Avenue on January 18; trees in all other areas will be collected a week later.

He added: “Residents are reminded that Christmas trees put out for collection will be composted.

“Therefore, no decorations, tinsel or nails should be included, as these items can damage sensitive composting equipment.

“If using a tree bag, please kindly remove it once your tree is at the kerb.”
