A section of Middle Road in Warwick will be closed to traffic for a week from Monday, the Ministry of Public Works said.

In a notice, the ministry said the closure is to facilitate paving works and will run from January 13 to January 20 on weekdays between 7.30am and 7pm.

The closure will occur at Burnt House Hill and Tamarind Vale.

The ministry said traffic will be detoured via Burnt House Hill, Harbour Road and Tamarind Vale and access for local property owners will be granted throughout the stretch of road.

It added: “Being that the road section is narrow through this stretch, the full road closure must be enforced to allow for the workers to expedite paving in a safer environment.”

Ministry representatives will direct traffic with barricades, signs, cones and traffic lights.

The ministry encouraged the full co-operation of the motoring public and apologised for any inconvenience.

Questions about the works can be directed to Tina Beer-Searle, principal highways engineer, on 501-3044.
