Deadline to register as election writ issued
Notice has been posted on the online Official Gazette of the island’s next General Election.
The writ has been issued by Rena Lalgie, the Governor, under the Parliamentary Election Act 1978 for “the election and return of one person as a member of the House of Assembly” for each of the island’s 36 constituencies.
Nomination day is January 31 and the polling day is set for February 18.
For voters to sign up and confirm their details, the registration period has also been set, with a deadline of 5pm on Thursday.
Forms can be completed at the Parliamentary Registry in Craig Appin House on Wesley Street in Hamilton, or online at www.elections.gov.bm.
Advance polling is also an option for eligible voters.
Bermudians last went to the polls on October 1, 2020.
Under the island’s constitution, general elections must be held within three months of the dissolution of the legislature, which was announced on Wednesday.
