Upgraded scholarship website launched

An upgraded scholarship website is aimed at encouraging maximum participation of residents to apply for funding for their studies.

BermudaScholarships.com offers a “seamless experience” for students, award providers and employers, the entity’s administrators said.

In a release, it was noted: “The revamped platform features a responsive and intuitive design, ensuring users can navigate effortlessly across devices while maintaining familiar workflows.

“From branding and public-facing pages to dedicated portals for students, award providers, employers, administrators and schools, every aspect of the site has been thoughtfully tailored to meet the needs of its diverse audience.”

The self-service portal empowers award providers to efficiently create and manage scholarships as it enables applicants to apply for funding with ease.

Annually, the platform connects students to millions in awards, spanning a variety of industries.

It was noted that the upgraded platform strengthens workforce development efforts on the island.

It allows entities to post notices when summer and graduate internship opportunities, as well as entry-level job openings, are available.

As part of the upgrade, the site’s homepage news section allows award providers and employers to post announcements, further promoting their scholarships and job opportunities.

Important changes to note

• Students will need to create new profiles to ensure accurate, up-to-date information across accounts

• Award providers will have their profiles and existing awards migrated to the new platform. They will receive an e-mail with instructions to register and access the upgraded features

• Training sessions for students and award providers will be available this month and in February to prepare for the scholarship deadlines in April and May

The upgrade, which was organised through the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, was funded by members of Bermuda’s international business community.

A steering committee, which included contributions from the Association of Bermuda International Companies, the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies, the Ministry of Education, the Government of Bermuda and the Liberty Group, guided the process.

The administrators said the website is committed to supporting Bermuda’s students and workforce by bridging the gap between talent and opportunity.

“This modernised platform sets a new standard for connecting the island’s youth with scholarships, internships and entry-level job opportunities,” the statement added.
