Age Concern Bermuda has launched a survey designed to improve mental health services for the elderly.

The charity is calling on members of the community to complete the Mental Health Assessment Survey as part of its continuing commitment to ensure programmes are in place for the unique needs of the ageing population.

A spokeswoman for Age Concern said the survey seeks to gather insights into the mental health status, challenges and preferences for support among Bermuda’s older adults.

She said: “By participating in the survey, community members will directly contribute to the development of impactful mental health education sessions and services tailored to the needs of our older population.

“Community participation is vital. The information you provide will guide us in designing programmes that truly make a difference in the lives of older adults. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of mental health support for our community.

“Older adults in Bermuda, their caregivers or family members are encouraged to participate in this survey. We aim to identify mental health needs, challenges and preferences for education and support. All responses will remain confidential and will only be used for programme development purposes.”

The survey is available online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/Q9DGBPF and the deadline for submission is January 31.
