Woody’s working to reopen restaurant
Woody’s Sports Bar & Restaurant in Sandys is actively preparing to open another restaurant, the Bermuda Land Management Corporation said today.
Taste the Love @ Woody’s – famed for its fish sandwiches – confirmed yesterday that they were being evicted after a roof-repair dispute.
After subletting from the bar for 16 years, February 8 will be the last day for owners Wayne and Annaliese Tucker.
BLMC chief executive Andrew Dias said: “To avoid any confusion, we wish to inform the public that BLMC and Woody’s Sports Bar & Restaurant maintain a current lease and while the restaurant operation is changing, the Woody’s Bar remains open.”
The Tuckers told The Royal Gazette last night their business is effectively homeless, and they do not know yet if they will reopen at another location.
“While any closure for any period is an inconvenience, we look forward to Woody’s reopening their restaurant very soon,” Mr Dias said. “We value and respect our relationship with the management and team at Woody’s. They have been an integral part of our West End family for many years, and it is our hope that this will continue for many more.”
