BCCL receives donation from Hamilton
The Corporation of Hamilton raised $2,100 for a school in the city.
A spokeswoman said the Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning collected the cheque at City Hall today.
The City, which chose BCCL as its 2024 Charity of the Year, raised $2,100 through its Christmas raffle and contributed to the school in others ways throughout the year.
Located on Cedar Avenue, BCCL works exclusively with students who have dyslexia, ADD/ADHD or other language-based learning differences.
Dwayne Caines, Hamilton’s chief executive, said: “The funds raised through our annual raffle will go towards empowering students who think and learn differently, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.
“This donation is just a small way for us to show our appreciation for the transformative work BCCL does every day.”
Head of school Cindy Corday said the donation will allow the school to “enhance our programmes through the purchasing of specialised learning materials, and creating new opportunities for growth”.
She added: “The City’s continued support reminds us that our mission to empower neurodivergent learners is valued and appreciated by the broader community.
“We are deeply grateful for this partnership and look forward to making a difference together.”
The City will continue its partnership with BCCL this year.
